'Grief Support: Honoring Loved Ones Through Acts of Kindness'
It's a mouthful, but I want newcomers to know exactly what they're in for. I created this group after I had my still son. To be honest, this idea was more inspired by my late grandma.
She died tragically June 2019. For her first birthday in heaven (Feb 14) my husband, daughter, and I wanted to spread kindness in honor of her. She was such a sweet, genuine, and generous woman. Her high school senior quote was even: Whisper kindness and it will echo back. I believe she lived her entire life with this quote in mind.
So on her birthday, for one of our acts of kindness, we handed out bottles of bubbles to a playground full of children. Seeing the bubbles swirling all over was actually quite a magical experience. I really felt her presence there and often times find myself thinking back to that special day I had with my family.
For our Facebook group, we wanted a place where you can feel safe sharing pictures (and more!) of your loved one that have passed. Whether it be your baby, parent, grandparent, friend, etc. We want to celebrate their birthdays together. Mourn the anniversary of their death together. But most of all, we want to inspire others with random acts of kindness that we do in their honor. Essentially, this group will be full of humble brags. But it can turn into such a positive atmosphere. People doing good & continuing the legacy of their angel.
If you wish to be a part of this unique support group, please join us. The doors are opened.
